Day 3 - National Running Day

Yep, National Running Day. And where was I? On the treadmill, alone, at 3AM. Oh well. Maybe I'll wear my running shoes and a race shirt to work today and try to promote it. Do calf stretches in front of my desk as a conversation starter or something. (Just kidding.)

Incidentally, I ran into a friend yesterday who said she'd been inspired by this blog to get out and run. I'm a little amazed that I can be an inspiration, but very flattered. I don't think I got across in person how cool I think that is, so - thanks, Paige!

Normally Tuesdays and Thursdays are gym/treadmill days, but it didn't work out this week. So I got 5 x 3:00 intervals in on the treadmill, with a 10:00 warm up and cool down - 40:00 total, just over 5 miles. (not sure what happened in that fitst warm up mile - weird pace and my heart rate spike? Didn't feel like it...) Would've gone to 8 intervals, but I'm still easing into the faster pace. 6:00/mile still feels pretty fast to me...
