Is it just me, or does it look like rocks would get stuck in those big holes on the bottom? I've never heard anyone comment on this, so clearly it's just me ...Good luck in the Contest Turi!!
Same thing occurred to me. Or even that a lot of our granite dust around here would get in. But they still look like sweet shoes.Lotta entries in that contest, though -

Gretchen,I've been using these shoes (100 and 101) for about a year and I have gotten a few little rocks stuck in there but I haven't felt the rock; just noticed it when I took the shoe off and flipped it over.Great shoe. I've run 50 milers in them but I'm not sure I could go 100 (I have two of those beasts this year). I'll use my Cascadia's for those.It is nice to have such a feather weight shoe in my choice trail runners.Darren
