National Running Day and this weekend's events

So, I guess it's National Running Day. I actually ran yesterday, and wasn't planning on it today - so I didn't. Who knows, maybe I'll get a token mile in later. At any rate, there are some fun events and things to do at the link above, as well as twitter hashtags contest and the like. So, enjoy -

As for this weekend, it's kind of a busy one - at least on:

Carson Valley Days Walk Jog Run
For the 5th year in a row, this event starts off the Carson Valley Days celebration. Starts and ends in Lampe Park, and the final mile of the course travels down the parade route, hopefully lined with spectators.

DeCelle Memorial Lake Tahoe Relay
The 49th annual running of this race, which bills itself as the Oldest Relay Race in the US. 7 runners, 8-12 miles each - all the way around Lake Tahoe. I can vouch for the fun of this one - an all-day good time.

Running With The Cows 5K
Run out in Fallon, this is a weight-classed race with classes like Beefalo, Jersey Cows, Quarter Pounders and Low Fat Yogurt. Sounds like a great time; I've been wanting to get out there to do it for a couple of years.

Truckee Running Festival
The first race in the Tahoe Trail Running Series for this year. I ran the half a couple years ago and it's a great course; also the 5K is a fund-raiser for Girls on the Run this year.

Exhausting. 16 hour day, from the time I left in the morning until I got back home. Hot, sweaty, and tough, too. Got a bunch of good pictures, though, which I'll get up when I get the chance -
