Big Blue 5K/10K

"The Big Blue 5k and 10k trail run happens on the same day as XTERRA Lake Tahoe.  The course starts and finishes at the Village Green in Incline Village, NV.
This is a large open grass community field. The event is set up and staged from here. From the starting area the course heads north and onto the great trail system featuring tall pines, aspens and creek crossings. Run one lap for the 5K or two for the 10K. The second lap starts right back in the venue creating a fun viewing area to cheer on the 10K participants. Bring the kids as this is a great venue for our shorter kids races for ages 4-12 years."

Northern Nevada Aids Walk/Run

"Registration, the race start and finish, along with the AIDS Walk Vendor Village  will be held at Idlewild Park.  The run and both walks will travel from Idlewild Park to downtown Reno utilizing the scenic path that navigates along the river to downtown and back to the park..
This year, the walk will include a “Paws for the Cause Dog Walk.” In an effort to create additional funding and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS, dog owners are invited to enter their dog in the Dog Walk and have their friends and family sponsor their dogs. The top three fundraisers will receive prizes.
All dogs must be be friendly, leashed and up to date on vaccinations. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
The AIDS Walk/Run Vendor Village will feature a variety of vendors including health & wellness booths, free HIV testing, food vendors, running & sports vendors, pet supplies and more!
All proceeds from the event benefit local HIV service organizations that are committed to providing care to those affected by HIV/AIDS. In addition, these organizations educate the community about HIV/AIDS, provide testing opportunities, and are dedicated to reducing the number of infections in northern Nevada.
The lead organization behind this event is Northern Nevada HOPES, the regional leader in HIV prevention, treatment and care. Other organizations who will benefit from funds raised include ACCEPT, Frontline, NNOT and Planned Parenthood."

Reno 10 Miler

"This event is what the title says, a 10 mile run. Just beyond a 10K (6.2 miles). But not quite as far as a half marathon (13.1 miles).
Or if you are more interested in running a shorter distance, get together a team and run in the 3 person relay. We'll divide the 10 mile course into three legs. Each team member will run one leg. The legs will be between 3 and 4 miles.
This is going to be a spectacular course that shows off many of the landmarks of the city and the University of Nevada. We will post course details and a course map as soon as possible.
Why a ten mile run? Ten mile runs are a growing niche in the running industry in the United States. There are a number of runs of this length that already are very popular. such as the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler and Army 10 Miler both in Washington D.C. These events draw huge fields. One of the newest is the Sactown 10 Miler in Sacramento.

The 10 mile distance is perfect for those 5K and 10K runners who want to move up but are intimidated by the longer distances. At the same time the 10 mile distance is long enough to be challenging for everyone."
